He argued that, on the contrary, an improved road network is widely recognized as a means of reducing crime and enhancing security by increasing economic opportunities, improving law enforcement accessibility, and fostering social cohesion.
In her rebuttal, Governor Peter responded by referencing her maiden speech on September 1, 2022, where she urged the Minister for Works and Highways to inform the people of Central Province about whether a socio-economic impact study had been conducted under the Connect PNG Program. According to the Governor, no such studies have been undertaken to date.
