
The netball courts have long been a safe haven for mothers and daughters, aunties and nieces, sisters—young women with dreams of performing at the highest level in the sport. The courts provide a space for women to enjoy the game, away from the harsh realities of Port Moresby. Laughter and joy fill the air as these young girls bicker and joke, eager to share their stories within the confines of Rita Flynn.
Such was the case for the late Kini Nope, who was known for her charisma, beautiful smile, humility, kindness, and generosity. At Rita Flynn, she was a beacon of light for the young women she encountered, both on and off the netball court.
