
Papua New Guinea Secures First Medal at Palau 2025 Pacific Mini Games
KOROR, PALAU, June 30, 2025 — Papua New Guinea has officially claimed its first medal at the Palau 2025 Pacific Mini Games, with the Team PNG’s V12 Mixed Va’a team securing a silver medal in the V12 500m final today.
The PNG crew showcased a strong performance at Meyuns in Koror, clocking a time of 2:00.67. They finished just behind Tahiti, who clinched the gold medal with a time of 1:58.16. Fiji earned the bronze, closely following with a time of 2:02.61.
This impressive achievement marks an exciting start for Team PNG at the Games, with numerous competitions yet to unfold.
